La collection Four Corners développée par La Manufacture Cogolin avec le designer Jason Miller a été exposée pour la première fois du 17 au 23 mai 2017 à New York à l’occasion de WantedDesign Brooklyn. Fondé en 2011 à NYC par Odile Hainaut et Claire Pijoulat, WantedDesign est une plate-forme dédiée à la promotion du design américain et au dialogue entre les communautés créatives internationales. Une action menée à travers différents événements et partenariats, dont le « Transatlantic Creative Exchange », visant à mettre en relation un designer américain avec un savoir-faire typiquement français.
La Manufacture Cogolin introduced the Four Corners collection designed by Jason Miller at WantedDesign Brooklyn, an event showcasing American and International design from May 17th - 23rd 2017 in New York. Founded in 2011 in NYC by Odile Hainaut and Claire Pijoulat, WantedDesign is a platform dedicated to promoting American design and fostering the international creative community. The WantedDesign initiative consists of various events and partnerships, including the “Transatlantic Creative Exchange”, aiming to connect American designers with typical French savoir-faire.
Originaire du Connecticut, Jason Miller, désormais basé à Brooklyn, a forgé sa réputation grâce à des créations arty - lampes, céramiques, chandeliers, miroirs et pièces de mobilier - mêlant savoir-faire artisanal et inspiration conceptuelle. Un grand écart stylistique qui n’est pas étranger à la maison varoise, aussi à l’aise sur le terrain des arts décoratifs que du design contemporain…
Hailing from Connecticut, Jason Miller, who is now based in Brooklyn, built up his reputation thanks to his arty designs - lamps, ceramics, chandeliers, mirrors, and furniture pieces - combining expert workmanship with conceptual inspiration. A stylistic gap that wasn’t unfamiliar to La Manufacture Cogolin, a company that is just as comfortable in the field of decorative arts as it is in contemporary design...
Inspirés par le graphisme et les couleurs des plaids Navajo, la série de cinq tapis (Roswell, Moab, Sedona, Flagstaff et Carson) imaginés par Jason Miller propose une variation inédite sur le thème de la rayure qui vient s’ajouter au catalogue du fabricant de tapis français. « Mon souhait était de proposer un dessin à la fois audacieux et simple » précise le designer. Les modèles sont également disponibles en tissés-main en édition limitée.
Drawing inspiration from the geometric spirit and colors of Navajo blankets, the five-rug series designed by Jason Miller, (Roswell, Moab, Sedona, Flagstaff, and Carson), features a unique variation on the stripe theme, in a new addition to the French rug manufacturer’s catalogue. “I wanted to propose a design that was both bold and simple,” the designer says. The rugs are also available in limited edition in a hand-woven technique.
